Riyadh Expo 2030: A Global Platform for Innovation and Collaboration

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has unveiled its ambitious master plan for Riyadh Expo 2030, setting the stage for a groundbreaking global event that promises to be a catalyst for innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development. The plan was officially presented during a reception organized by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City in Paris, France, attended by delegates from 179 member states of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE).

Under the theme "Together for a Foresighted Tomorrow," Riyadh Expo 2030 aims to create an exceptional experience that will go down in history as one of the most remarkable Expos ever held. Located near the King Salman International Airport, the exhibition site will be easily accessible to visitors, who can conveniently reach it within minutes using the efficient "Riyadh Metro" network, connecting all parts of the city.

At the heart of the master plan are the 226 spherical-shaped exhibition pavilions, symbolizing equal opportunities for all participants. The design reflects the ancient urban style, history, culture, and nature of Riyadh, showcasing the Kingdom's commitment to the global climate agenda and its vision for a future brimming with potential. The strategic placement of the pavilions based on longitudes will bring countries from the north and south together, highlighting Saudi Arabia's pivotal role in fostering international cooperation.

One of the key features of the exhibition is the seamless movement it offers visitors. With short distances to cover, visitors can effortlessly explore pavilions, public squares, cultural and innovation facilities, food services, rest areas, and waiting areas. Fully shaded corridors inspired by Riyadh's architectural heritage will provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience for attendees.

Moreover, Riyadh Expo 2030 will incorporate a modern green oasis situated along one of the tributaries of Wadi As-Sulai, demonstrating the Kingdom's commitment to preserving and sustainably developing nature. Visitors will have the opportunity to stroll through this serene oasis, experiencing the harmonious blend of technology, culture, and nature.

Central to the main plan of Riyadh Expo 2030 will be a striking landmark symbolizing "Responsibility for Protecting the Planet." This iconic structure will consist of 195 columns, representing the participating countries. Three pavilions surrounding the landmark will embody the exhibition's sub-themes of "Prosperity for All," "Climate Action," and "A Different Tomorrow."

The Collaborative Change Corner (C3) will serve as a hub for innovation and creativity throughout the seven-year journey leading up to and beyond Riyadh Expo 2030. This dynamic area aims to showcase how collaboration among brilliant minds in science, social endeavors, and intellectual pursuits can accelerate the changes that will shape our collective future.

Lamia Bint Abdulaziz, a member of the blueprint team for Riyadh Expo 2030, expressed her commitment to delivering an exceptional experience for visitors, ensuring full and balanced participation, and providing added value for all participating countries. With an estimated 40 million visitors, Riyadh Expo 2030 will offer an unprecedented and high-quality experience, allowing attendees to embark on a virtual journey to any country in the world and indulge in diverse cultural and entertainment events.

Eng. Nouf Bint Majid Al-Muneef, another member of the blueprint team, emphasized the Kingdom's dedication to organizing an environmentally friendly exhibition with zero carbon emissions. Riyadh Expo 2030 will be powered by clean and sustainable resources, leveraging solar energy and implementing high standards for resource efficiency, biodiversity preservation, waste management, and recycling. The Kingdom aims to make Riyadh Expo 2030 the most sustainable and influential Expo to date, aligning with its climate commitments and international sustainability standards.
