Tourist businesses, which had initially blamed fears of pollution following the destruction of Ukraine's Kakhovka dam, are now attributing the rebound to a combination of factors. Contrary to earlier concerns, experts in Bulgaria have found no evidence of pollution on their beaches along the southwestern shores of the Black Sea. Yamor Dimitrov, from the Basin Directorate water authority, stated that the results of the samples taken on the northern Black Sea coast have consistently shown no excesses. Since June of the previous year, there have been no indications of increased pollution.
